Finding the right career can be challenging, and everyone's journey will be different. Creating a Journey map will help you organize the required steps and track your progress.

How to Create a New Journey

Taking the assessments will also make creating a journey easier as careers will be suggested for you based on the results. You can follow this guide to take our assessments: How to Take Career Assessments.

  1. Go to https://gozig.com/ and sign into your account

  2. Select View Journeys on the home page

  3. Select Start a Journey or I have a career in mind

  4. Choose a career for your journey. You can use the filters to sort by saved careers, matched careers (based on your assessment results), or starter careers.

  5. Now you have a journey to track your skills, experience, and steps to achieve your career.


How to Use Your Journey Plan

Your Journey plan has several sections that will help you track your progress and build a roadmap to your desired career. Check out the sections below to learn about each section. Using other parts of the system, such as taking assessments and saving skills, will also enhance your experience!

Build Your Skills

In this section, skills will populate based on the career you chose. You can add more skills, delete skills, update ones you already have, etc.

  1. Track your acquired skills by clicking the check box:

  2. Select the eyeball to view completed tasks, which will also allow you to unselect skills if you check them by accident.

  3. Select Add Skills if you want to add an additional skill.

  4. Select Add New Skill

  5. Find skills by type/industry, by career, or create a custom skill.

  6. Saved skills will now appear on your list!

Real-World Experience

This section's all about real experience in the career field you're aiming for. Think job shadowing, apprenticeships, workshops, etc.

  1. Track your real-world experience by selecting the checkbox next to a task to mark it as complete

  2. Select Add Task to add your own custom task

  3. Select Create a Custom Task or select a recommended task

  4. Select Add Selected to add the task(s)

  5. If you create a custom task, enter Task Name and a description

  6. Select Create Task

Get Job Ready

This section is about preparing for hiring. Tasks like creating or updating your resume, practicing for the interview, and researching the business go here. Track your job-readiness by completing certain tasks.

  1. Select the checkbox next to a task to mark it as complete or select Add Task

  2. Select Create a Custom Task or select a recommended task

  3. If you select a recommended task, select Add Selected

  4. If you create a custom task, enter Task Name and a description

  5. Select Create Task

Apply & Launch

You can track your application roadmap too. Tasks related to follow-up and the actual application process should go here.

  1. Select the checkbox to mark tasks as complete or select Add Task

  2. Select Create a Custom Task or select a recommended task

  3. If you select a recommended task, select Add Selected

  4. If you create a custom task, enter Task Name and a description

  5. Select Create Task

Grow & Advance

You can also track tasks related to growing and improving your career. Check out related careers, figure out what new skills you want to learn to get a promotion or a more-advanced position, etc.

  1. Select the checkbox to mark a task as complete or select Add a task to add additional tasks

  2. You can choose to "Create a custom task" or select a recommended task.

  3. If you select a recommended task, select Add Selected

  4. If you create a custom task, enter Task Name and a description

  5. Select Create Task


How to Delete a Journey

As you create additional career maps, you may decide to delete your old one. To do so:

  1. On the dashboard, select View Journey or select the menu in the top right corner and then select Journeys

  2. Select the Journey you would like to delete

  3. Select the pencil icon beside the journey's name

  4. Select delete and confirm deletion
