How to Mass Upload Students in Kuder Galaxy
Important Note: Students cannot be added through the mass upload feature if your school is Clever enabled.
Log into Galaxy
Click the Students tab on the left-hand side of the page
On the Students page, click Download Student Template to upload many students at once
Open the Excel file and enter the needed information
First Name
Last Name
Email (This should be an active email and not hyperlinked in the excel file)
Grade (Use PK, K or the number 1-5)
Student ID (Optional)
Date of Birth (Optional)
Password (minimum of 8 characters)
School (ONLY if uploading students from a district-level account)
Save to your computer as a .xlsx file
Return to the Students tab in Galaxy
Select Incremental or Complete next to Step 3
Incremental: Use this option when adding or updating a few or several students to your existing galaxy database
Complete: Complete uploads should only be used to add and update a complete list of students to your database. Performing a complete upload will remove all other students from your database other than the students listed on your template. If a student is not on the template but in Galaxy, their account will be deactivated if the complete option is selected
Click Upload Student File
Select the saved excel file and click Open
A banner across the top will notify of success or failure of file upload.
How to Add Students One at a Time
Select Students from the navigation pane.
Click on the Add Student button.
Enter in all required fields regarding the student.
Click Save
Repeat these steps until you have added all students desired.
