Educators: How to Explore Student Detail Insights within Navigator for Admins

The student detail page can be used to view all information regarding a student's progress in Navigator and their completed activities.

How to Utilize Student Details

  1. Search for the Student using the Magnifying Glass in the top right-hand of the page

    1. Type out part of the student's first or last name and press enter

  2. Select the Student's Name to view the student details

There are five sections available within the Student Details page to provide a comprehensive, actionable overview of the student's progress within the system related to college and career readiness, college application management, and work-based learning.

In addition, the Student Portfolio highlight is available as a summary of a student's activity within the Navigator system.

The five sections include the following:

  • This tab showcases student demographic information and allows for password resets, along with related parent and guardian information.

  • This tab provides insights on students' assessment results in both the National Career Clusters and Holland Work Environments.

  • This tab highlights a students' favorited items within the platform along with their selected Option After High School and College Match results.

  • This tab includes comprehensive information on students' actionable plans and engagement within the system, including: Goal Setting, Education Plans, Graduation Plan, and Work-Based Learning.

  • This tab includes insights on a student's college and career preparation activities, including College Applications, Parchment Requests, External Assessment Scores, Job Search Documents, and more.

  • Student Portfolio
    This floating box provides a printable summary of a student's activities within the Navigator platform.


Student Details: General

The General student details tab gives information on the student demographics as well as information on the parents or guardians that a student has associated with their account.

Student Information

The Grade, Graduation Year, Student ID and Date of Birth can all be edited by an admin if the school is not enabled with Clever or ClassLink. An admin can also set a temporary password if the school is not setup with Clever or ClassLink.

  • Student ID

  • Registration Date

  • Last Login Date

  • Graduation Year

  • Date of Birth

  • Gender

  • Ethnicity (If Reported)

  • Race (If Reported)

  • Address

  • Cell Phone

  • Email

  • Set a Temporary Password (Not Available of Enabled with Clever or ClassLink)

Parent and Guardian Accounts

Parents and guardians are listed in this section and can also be invited or deleted by admins if needed. This enables a parent or guardian to create a Navigator account linked to their child's account so they can review their education and graduation plans, along with assessment results.


Student Details: Discover

The Discover student details tab gives information on the student's assessments taken and assessment results of the most recent assessments taken. Admins have the ability to view results in both National Career Clusters and Holland Work Environments.

National

This section shows a list of the student's top five national career clusters and top five national career pathways. The degree of interest is compared to the degree of skill measured using the most recent Kuder Career Interests Assessment® against the most recent Kuder Skills Confidence Assessment®. A student's top 5 work values are also shown as well as all Individual Assessments a student has taken in a table at the bottom of the page. View the results by selecting the View Results in the row of the assessment you would like to view.

Holland

A student's three highest areas of interest, and the degree of skill in them, are shown in this section which is measured by comparing the most recent Kuder Career Interests Assessment® taken against the most recent Kuder Skills Confidence Assessment® taken. A student's top 5 work values are also shown as well as all Individual Assessments a student has taken in a table at the bottom of the page. View the results by selecting the View Results in the row of the assessment you would like to view.


Student Details: Explore

The Explore student details tab gives information on what a student has favorited while exploring assessment results, occupations, or other career related selections.

Favorites

This section shows a student's favorites grouped and ranked. This information can help provide more detailed insight on the student's exploration and tentative choices among career and educational options

Plans After High School

This section shows a student's Plan After High School designation and College Match Access Status. This information can help provide more detailed insight on the students exploration and tentative choices among career and educational options.


Student Details: Plan

The Plan student details tab gives information on the career planning activities a student has completed within their navigator account.

Goals

The Goals section lists all student goals that have been made by the student since they have had a Navigator account. A goal can be expanded to view steps, deadlines and progress that the student has made towards completing the goal.

Education Plans

The Education Plans section lists all student ed plans that have been started, completed, and approved or denied by the student since they have had a Navigator account. The name of the education plan can be selected to view more details of the education plan.

Graduation Plan

The Graduation Plan section lists all activities that that have been completed or not completed based on the tasks the district has assigned per grade or before graduation to meet a student's ICAP requirements. Any completed tasks will show as 'Completed' along with the completion date.

Work-Based Learning

The Work-Based Learning section shows all WBL opportunities a student has requested, started and completed since they have had a Navigator account. The opportunity record also lists the business, opportunity type, last updated date, status, and total time spent per record.


Student Details: Prepare

College Applications

The College Applications section shows all common app and direct application colleges that a student has applied for using Navigator.

Each institution selected in the Common App process will show the teachers selected and their progress, current progress of counselor forms, the application deadline, and the attending decision. The Direct Applications show the information that the student has entered about their direct application. All information shown was manually entered by the student.

Note: An educator can update the attending decision from this section by selecting the edit button next to the Common App college selected.

Parchment Requests

The Parchment Requests section shows all Transcripts and Letters of Recommendation that a student has applied for using Navigator. Every request will show the request date, the college selected to receive the document, the status, the document ID of sent and delivered requests, and the comments associated.

External Assessment Scores

The External Assessment Scores section shows all self-reported scores that a student has entered into their Navigator account. The available exams that students can report on for educators to review are the ACT, SAT, and PSAT. Every self-reported score will show the date taken, the description entered by the student, the score of every section and the composite or total score.

Job Search Documents

The Job Search Documents section shows the Resumes, Cover Letters, and Reference documents that the students have created within their Navigator account. The student's resumes, cover letters, and references can be previewed or downloaded. The formatting is system generated based on the information entered in by the student.

Other Documents

The Other Documents section shows all documents and notes that a student has entered or uploaded from their Navigator account that are not tied to a work-based learning opportunity. The uploaded documents can be downloaded and then viewed while the notes can be previewed and printed one by one or all together by educators.


Student Portfolio

The Student Portfolio is a summary of a student's activity including assessment results, education plans, goals, favorites, and the latest resume. This can be used as an overall summary of what the student has completed within their Navigator account.
