What is a WBL Opportunity Type Requirement?

A work-based learning opportunity type requirement is a task that a student needs to complete while taking part in a WBL opportunity. Requirements for each work-based learning opportunity type have been prebuilt into the Alabama Career Planning System for your district.


WBL Opportunity Requirements in the ACPS

Each WBL opportunity type has it's own unique requirements that students need to complete in their ACPS account.

Job Shadow

  • Upload Daily Sign In/Sign Out Log

Internship

Registered Apprenticeship

  • Track Hours

    • Using the time tracking feature, each student must keep a record of hours worked each day earned in a WBL Training Continuum Placement.

  • Post-Opportunity Evaluation

    • Student reflects on what they learned.


Employability Skill Training

  • Complete Employability Skills Training Experience

    • Complete the employability skills training experience.

  • Post-Opportunity Evaluation

    • Student reflects on what they learned.


Simulated Workplace

  • Complete and Upload Simulated Job Application

    • Please upload a copy of the completed simulated job application.

  • Complete Simulated Job Interview

    • Please complete a simulated job interview.

  • Complete a Review of Job Application and Interview

    • Complete a review with your teacher / WBL Coordinators of your performance on the interview and job application.

  • Track Hours Worked

    • Using the time tracking feature, track hours worked for your simulated job experience.

  • Complete and Upload 6S Simulated Workplace Checklist

School Based Enterprise

Cooperative Education (CoOp)

    • Using the time tracking feature, each student must keep a record of hours worked each day and wages earned in a WBL Training Continuum Placement. Please log at least 140 hours per course block dedicated to your cooperative education experience.

  • Review Cooperative Education Evaluation 1

    • Review and upload a copy of the signed cooperative education evaluation, completed by your employer, with your teacher/coordinator. This is for the first 9 weeks of the experience.

  • Review Cooperative Education Evaluation 2

    • Review and upload a copy of the signed cooperative education evaluation, completed by your employer, with your teacher/coordinator. This is for the second 9 weeks of the experience.

  • Review Cooperative Education Evaluation 3

    • Review and upload a copy of the signed cooperative education evaluation, completed by your employer, with your teacher/coordinator. This is for the third 9 weeks of the experience.

  • Review Cooperative Education Evaluation 4

    • Review and upload a copy of the signed cooperative education evaluation, completed by your employer, with your teacher/coordinator. This is for the last 9 weeks of the experience.

  • Post-Opportunity Evaluation

    • Student reflects on what they learned.
