How to Use Navigator with Alabama Students

Using the Alabama Career Planning System, CTE teachers, CTE Counselors and Career Coaches can support CTE students on exploring and preparing for the future. Each section has the supporting article for walking students through the product feature.

  1. Students can explore career opportunities related to their CTE programs. Using the Alabama Career Planning System, this includes:

    1. Occupations

    2. Pathways

    3. National Clusters

  2. CTE Students annually update their 4-year education plans to include CTE courses. CTE students connect with their CTE teachers to review the course of study for their program. This supports:

    1. TAPE requirements

    2. Students earning Industry Credentials

    3. CTE Concentrators/CTE Completers

  3. CTE Students can build resumes use work force tools to showcase their CTE Achievements, Skills & College & Career Ready (CCR) credentials. Resumes, Plan for Work Tools and E-Profiles include:

    1. Education & Organizations

    2. Skills & Experience

    3. Certifications & Work Samples

  4. CTE Students identify post-secondary pathways based on the interests, skills & work value assessments and set goals to reach desired pathway. This includes:

    1. On-The-Job Training & Apprenticeships

    2. Community College/Technical Training/Certificates

    3. Military Training

    4. Bachelor/Advanced Degrees
